St Ives is a brilliant place for holidays all the year round. It was once a fishing village, and has a lovely harbour. When the tide goes out the harbour is clean yellow sand. There are lots of other beaches - one faces west and is great for surfing. You can walk for miles along the cliffs, or just take a short walk around "the Island" It's in the middle of town but it feels wild and remote, especially when the sea is crashing beneath. The light, and the beauty of the place have always brought artists - the town is liberally scattered with all kinds of galleries, with art to browse and art to buy. There are lots of excellent restaurants, pubs, pasties, local fresh fish shops ...
We'll add to this page later - for now we'll tempt you with some photographs, and just a little more information about this fabulous little place ... and click here to visit the St Ives Tourist Board site
